[A bit of a rant] I'm a little weary and peeved about the quantity and frequency and above all the totally non revelent sexual advertising saturating our media lately..... meh. meh. [a bit of a rant/]

I agree. It's been out of hand for a while. It's an asexual's curse to be oblivious to why everyone is so obsessed with sex that they are happy to have it shoved in their faces all day every day. Pacing

I'm glad I don't watch TV nor read newspapers, and Firefox has Adblock.

Yeah, this is irritating. I was in an American Apparel shop today and they're really bad for that, they sell kids clothes too.

I agree- songs are really bad for this- if you have ever watched any film clips they are full of gyrating bodies and lips puckered up to the camera and the words are so overtly sexual. In a way it is quite interesting and gives some insight into the world of the sexual being. Sometimes I am so thankful not to be at the mercy of sexual urges that need to be kept in check or intrusive thoughts that need to be batted away (not that every sexual person is like this!! but it seems there are many who are)

I guess sex in advertising doesn't gross me out much or anything, I just feel alienated.
In a way I think sexual people should really be the ones annoyed by this, seeing as it's them it's exploiting.

Alienated is a good way to put it. The advertising is so blatant and prevalent that I can't understand how people, sexual people that is, continue to put up with it let alone like it. I'm sure the originators must think they are being witty or clever or seductive and people obviously think so but all I see is monotony, yawn and boring. How many millions of times can products be alluded to sexual content without becoming tired and ineffective? For example the latest tim tam commercials have people purposely talking like they are doing some sexual things only to reveal at the end that they are in fact talking about chocolate biscuits. I'm sure the originators think it was really clever with the double meaning but whyyyyyyy? It's a chocolate biscuit! It isn't sex. It hasn't got anything to do with sex (unless you have some food thing happening) and I don't think it is clever, appealing or does the product justice. To me, I feel as if the people involved have cheapened the image of the product by falling back on such a base form of advertising. meh .. still ranting.

I'm with you guys I think that as a whole all this sex in advertising is WAY over the top and I swear every time I see music video clips it's getting worse. I hope one day everyone wakes up and realizes just how ridiculous this whole thing is and a whole backlash happens. I like living in fantasy world and I don't really see that changing anytime in the immediate future.
